January 2023 Volunteer Spotlight

Gayle Underwood joined Dance for the Cure after learning about the organization from a colleague at ATT. "When Donna Cease told me about Dance for the Cure, I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of it," said Underwood. "

The organization's mission to support those affected by breast cancer really resonated with me, given my own personal experiences with the disease."

One of Underwood's favorite memories from volunteering with DFC is the positive attitude and camaraderie among the team. "Despite the challenges of the work, everyone is always upbeat and supportive of one another," she said.

For Underwood, doing this work is important because it allows her to channel her grief and loss into something positive and meaningful. "Even though I'm not artistically inclined, I am able to use my talents and abilities to support the organization and make a difference in the lives of others," she said.

Overall, Underwood feels incredibly lucky to be a part of the DFC team. "The women in the organization are incredibly caring, hardworking, and kind, and I am honored to be a part of their efforts," she said.
