Dance for the Cure co-founder Kathleen Cirioli recently joined members of the Rotary Club of Hillsborough for an evening of conversation about community, generosity, and the impact of helping neighbors facing breast cancer.

The March 4, 2026 meeting took place in the Farmhouse Room at Pheasant’s Landing in Hillsborough, where Rotary Club President Abed Medawar welcomed Kathleen and presented Dance for the Cure with the club’s second grant.

The Rotary Club’s Board recently approved a three-year grant commitment, offering continued support for Dance for the Cure and the work it does to assist local breast cancer patients experiencing financial hardship.

During her remarks, Kathleen shared the story behind Dance for the Cure and the community that continues to carry its mission forward. What began as a grassroots effort inspired by Kathleen’s own breast cancer journey has grown into a volunteer-powered organization dedicated to helping neighbors throughout Central New Jersey.

“Every dollar raised stays right here in our community, helping local women during one of the most difficult times in their lives,” Kathleen shared with Rotary members.

To date, Dance for the Cure has gifted more than $1.4 million to over 800 women in Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex, and Mercer counties as they navigate the financial challenges that often come with a breast cancer diagnosis.

Kathleen thanked the Rotary members in attendance for their generosity and for choosing to support local patients through their grant program. Partnerships with community organizations like the Rotary Club of Hillsborough expand the reach of Dance for the Cure and allow more individuals to receive support during treatment and recovery.

Dance for the Cure operates as a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit organization, with every dollar raised directed toward helping local breast cancer patients facing financial hardship.

Guests at the meeting also received a one-page overview of Dance for the Cure’s mission and programs.
