Throughout the month of April, a beautiful display of love and support has once again taken shape in Hillsborough. The Pink Ribbon Tribute by Dance for the Cure is now on view along the Rain Garden Walkway, located just to the right of the front entrance to the Hillsborough Township Municipal Complex at 379 South Branch Rd, Hillsborough, NJ.

Each bright pink sign represents a person and a connection. Some honor those currently facing breast cancer. Others remember friends or loved ones whose impact continues to be felt every day. Together, they create a powerful visual reminder of how many lives are touched by this diagnosis—and how deeply a community can come together in support.

Each sign also signifies a $50 donation to Dance for the Cure. For those who purchased them, it becomes a way to honor or remember someone while also providing support to a local family facing breast cancer. That contribution helps provide direct financial assistance to patients across Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties.

For many, participating in the Pink Ribbon Tribute is personal and lasting.

“It’s similar to lighting a candle for someone in church,” shared co-founder Kathleen Cirioli. “You think about them always.”

That quiet act of remembrance carries outward. Funds raised through the tribute help ease everyday financial pressures—groceries, transportation, and household bills—so patients can focus more fully on their treatment and care.

In the days following this year’s installation, volunteers and participants received photos of their signs along with personal notes. The response was immediate, with messages of appreciation from families, supporters, and township leaders. Fifteen of our Dance for the Cure volunteers are also breast cancer survivors, and the Pink Ribbon Tribute creates a deeper connection to the impact of their work and the people behind each name.

The Pink Ribbon Tribute stands as a visible expression of care and connection. Each sign represents both a personal story and a shared commitment to helping local breast cancer patients receive the support they need during treatment.
