Dance for the Cure Joins Hillsborough's National Night Out

On Tuesday evening, August 4, Dance for the Cure was proud to be part of Hillsborough Township's 4th Annual National Night Out at Mountain View Park. The event brought together families, local organizations, first responders, and businesses for an evening focused on community, connection, and fun.

With beautiful summer weather and a park full of smiling faces, National Night Out offered a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to meet the people and organizations that help strengthen our community throughout the year.

Dance for the Cure volunteers MaryAnn Salem, Marcia Moore, Danielle Hughes, Carol Longo, Terry Oxford, along with DFC co-founders Kathleen Cirioli and Joanne Liscovitz welcomed visitors throughout the evening, sharing information about the organization's mission and connecting with families from across the community.

Our volunteers enjoyed meeting so many people who stopped by our table to learn more about Dance for the Cure and our mission of providing financial assistance to local breast cancer patients in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, every conversation helps build awareness about the support available to local individuals facing financial hardship during breast cancer treatment. Dance for the Cure has gifted more than $1.4 million to local patients thanks to the generosity of our community.

The event featured representatives from the Hillsborough Police Department, Fire Department, EMS, K-9 demonstrations, local nonprofits, community organizations, games, and many local businesses that generously provided free food and desserts for everyone in attendance. It was a true celebration of community spirit.

We are grateful to the Hillsborough Township Police Department for organizing another successful National Night Out and for inviting nonprofit organizations like Dance for the Cure to participate. Events like this create meaningful opportunities to connect with our neighbors, share our mission, and remind local families that a caring community stands beside them.
