Dance for the Cure Open House!

Ever Wonder How Dance for the Cure Makes Such a Big Impact? Come to "Behind the Scenes at DFC" to see for Yourself.

"Behind the Scenes at Dance For the Cure" Thursday, September 10, 10:00 a.m. – Noon Basket Central, 6 Kirby Avenue, Somerville, NJ RSVP by September 3 to Joanne Liscovitz, jliscovitz@msn.com

Throughout the year, our community sees the beautiful results of Dance for the Cure's work. Pink ribbons decorate towns across Central New Jersey through Tie the Town Pink. Hundreds of businesses display handcrafted bows during the Pink Bow Project. Every October, Ribbons of Hope brings our community together for an evening of generosity, friendship, and fundraising. More recently, the Pink Ribbon Tribute has created a powerful display honoring and remembering those touched by breast cancer.

What many people never get to see is everything that happens behind the scenes. All of it, from ribbons and bows to baskets and fundraisers, comes together because caring people generously give of their time.

On Thursday, September 10, Dance for the Cure invites the community to step behind the curtain during our Behind the Scenes Open House at Basket Central in Somerville.

If you're thinking about getting involved or simply want to learn more about what we do, we'd love to welcome you.

Discover Where You Can Make a Difference

People often wonder how they can help. The good news is that there are many meaningful ways to get involved—from quick, one-time tasks that take just an hour or a day, to ongoing volunteer roles that let you contribute your time and talents throughout the year.

During the open house, you'll have an opportunity to explore the many volunteer roles that help make Dance for the Cure successful. Visit interactive stations showcasing each of our signature programs and meet the volunteers who bring them to life.

You'll discover how volunteers:

  • Assemble beautiful themed baskets for Ribbons of Hope.

  • Create the signature pink bows displayed at local businesses each October.

  • Prepare Tie the Town Pink materials for participating municipalities.

  • Help organize the Pink Ribbon Tribute.

  • Support fundraising efforts throughout the year.

  • Assist with planning, organizing, outreach, and event preparation.

Some volunteers enjoy crafting. Others love organizing, planning events, talking with local businesses, or lending a helping hand behind the scenes. Every skill and every level of availability has value.

You'll also enjoy light refreshments while meeting people who share a passion for helping neighbors in our community.

Bring a Friend

Our volunteers often tell us that one of the most rewarding parts of Dance for the Cure is the friendships they've built while working together for a meaningful cause.

If you already volunteer with us, we encourage you to invite a friend who may enjoy becoming part of our team. If you've been looking for an organization where your time can make a real difference close to home, this is the perfect opportunity to learn more in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
