At Dance for the Cure, we often say our work is powered by community. That includes the patients we help, the volunteers who give their time, and the donors who make it all possible. Among them, the Banfield Family Foundation stands out, not only as a generous supporter, but as our most generous donor. Their partnership has had a direct and lasting impact on the number of breast cancer patients we've been able to assist.
The Foundation’s connection to our cause is deeply personal. “Our founder is a breast cancer survivor, having faced the disease in 1991, and that experience forever shaped the foundation’s commitment to helping those affected by serious illnesses.” That lived experience helped shape a mission that aligns closely with our own—supporting people at a time when they need it most.

When the Banfield Family Foundation looked for organizations that were making a real difference, they found us. “Dance for the Cure has raised vital funds, built a strong sense of community, and provided hope and resources to countless individuals and families,” they shared. That kind of support reminds us that our work resonates beyond the events we host or the checks we write—it reaches people who see the value in helping neighbors through hard times.
Since our founding, Dance for the Cure has gifted over $1.4 million to local breast cancer patients in financial need across Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. We do this with the help of volunteers, partners, and donors like the Banfield Family Foundation who believe, as we do, that nobody should have to choose between paying a medical bill and putting food on the table.
“As a survivor myself, I know how hard the journey can be, not just physically and emotionally, but financially,” said DFC co-founder Kathleen Cirioli. “The Banfield Family Foundation understands that too, and their support has made it possible for us to reach more patients who truly need help.”

Co-founder Joanne Liscovitz added, “The generosity of the Banfield Family Foundation goes beyond dollars—it’s a reflection of shared values and deep empathy. Their belief in our mission reminds us why we do what we do.”
“The meaningful impact is why the Banfield Family Foundation is proud to continue supporting Dance for the Cure year after year,” they told us. We’re honored by that trust and grateful for their continued support.
When foundations like Banfield step up, it means more patients can focus on healing, not on how they’ll get through the next month. That’s the kind of impact we’re working toward every day.
