Dennis Sullivan, the Mayor of the Borough of Somerville, along with the Somerville Borough Council, proclaimed the month of October 2022 as Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout the community. The Mayor and Council urged women and their families to deepen their knowledge about breast cancer, to celebrate survivors and to memorialize those who lost to the disease.
"WHEREAS, as we display pink ribbons and wear pink clothing to raise awareness, we also support those courageously fighting breast cancer and honor the lies lost to the disease."
