Tie the Town Pink 2026
44 Communities, Including New Jersey’s Capital, Show Their Support

October has arrived, and pink ribbons are making their annual appearance around Central New Jersey. This year, 44 towns are participating in Dance for the Cure’s Tie the Town Pink initiative—including our state capital, Trenton!
Since 2016, Tie the Town Pink has brought breast cancer awareness into the places residents visit every day. Ribbons tied around trees, railings, and municipal grounds offer a visible show of support for neighbors facing breast cancer. Having Trenton take part this year brings that message to the heart of New Jersey’s capital.
Behind those displays is a community effort. DFC volunteers prepare and deliver ribbon supplies, while municipal employees, local officials, and volunteers help their towns turn pink. Each person who packs a box, makes a delivery, or ties a ribbon has a hand in bringing the initiative to life.
The ribbons also help introduce residents to Dance for the Cure and the assistance available close to home. A breast cancer diagnosis can bring financial strain as treatment disrupts work and household bills continue to arrive. DFC provides direct financial assistance to patients in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties, helping with expenses such as housing, utilities, groceries, and transportation to treatment. A conversation sparked by a ribbon could help someone find that support—or inspire a donation that makes it possible.
To all 44 participating communities and everyone helping them Tie the Town Pink, thank you. As residents go about their October errands, appointments, and everyday routines, those ribbons carry a simple message: our communities care about the people facing breast cancer within them.
