DFC Co-founder Speaks at Raritan Township Committee Meeting

Updated: Nov 13, 2022

On October 4, 2022, Dance for the Cure co-founder, Kathleen Cirioli, was invited by Karen Gilbert, Raritan Township Administrator to attend the Tuesday, Oct. 4, meeting of the Raritan Township Committee to share the mission and history of Dance for the Cure.

Kathleen recounted about the organization's inception in 1999 a year after Kathleen's breast cancer diagnosis, and how Dance for the Cure's appearance on national TV on the Rosie O'Donnell Show was the springboard for DFC's development. She highlighted our annual initiatives such as Tie the Town Pink, Pink Bow Project, and our annual fundraiser, Ribbons of Hope. Kathleen concluded by explaining how, to date, Dance for the Cure has donated over $850,000 to local women in need. Later, committeeman Scott Sipos reached out expressing their desire to help Dance for the Cure in the future.

Kathleen's participation in the township meeting resulted in a letter being published in several local news outlets, including The Hunterdon Review.
